Hi 2nd & 3rd
grade Science students!
How did your
Crystal Experiment turn out? Did it creep over the edge of the
container like ours did? Did you watch and see a crystal actually
form? Did your Mom or Dad ever read the handout!? Thanks for being
part of the Science experiments group. We won’t have Science in
November or December because we will have How Great Thou Art in
November and our Christmas party in December. I will see you at
enrichment day in February, 2004!
Mrs. Truitt

Many Thanks
for the Samaritan's
Purse Christmas Project
Thank you for helping
us pass last year’s goal by 10 boxes. This year there were a total of
65 Christmas Boxes received, and I know the children receiving these
boxes will be blessed by your gracious and abundant giving. The boxes
will be turned in to the distribution center the first week in November.
Some of
you have asked if it’s too late to give a box; I will still be accepting
boxes at my home and at the November Parent's Meeting.
Thank You and
God Bless!

Thanks to everyone who made
our Enrichment Day a great time!
Many hands,
talents, and projects made for a great day! The animals from the Ross
Park Zoomobile were a big hit and the presentations were very
educational. More than I had expected. One gal even gave a mini
history lesson on Rommel ('The Dessert Fox") because it tied in with the
fox she was presenting. The children also enjoyed learning about and
touching a Corn Snake, a 3 ft. alligator, a hedgehog, a chinchilla, a
Fennec Fox and a Great Horned Owl. It was a wonderful day!
Many
Christmas Shoeboxes were made and brought. There were a total of 65
Christmas Shoe Boxes received, and the children learned important and
biblical values on giving to others as well as wonderful geography
lessons. The K-3 group made crystals and had a class on "Dog Safety".
"Buddy" (Sharon's gentle lovable dog) was a great teacher too! The
4-6th graders did a great job with making 12 Christmas Shoe Boxes as
their project, and then they had a PE time with relay races and other
muscle stretching events.
The Jr. High
had a class on Knot Tying for the boys and a class on rubber stamping
for the girls, then a combined class on flight. There were great books
on flight for everyone, and a booklet handout on knot tying, and the
girls came away with their finished projects. The High School group
continued their course on public speaking, with opportunities to speak
before their group and view a video.
Thanks to all
those Moms & Dads who give of their time and talents! Special
Thank Yous go out to Mike Stout for the class on flight and to
Mrs. Stout for the class on rubber stamping.
